Our Story

Inspired by their upbringings along the coast of northern California, founders and friends Lisa Fontaine and Lisa Wong Jackson strongly believe in being thoughtful about the things they bring into their homes. Each piece should have a purpose, bring happiness and offer a sense of well-being.

Lisa Fontaine is a Santa Cruz native and entrepreneur. Over the past several years, she has organized craft fairs with local artisans, designed a line of women’s clothing and run a small crafts camp for children. Lately, her creative energy is poured into making wheel-thrown functional ceramics called Coastline Ceramics in her home studio. Lisa lives in Berkeley with her twin boys, loves hosting house concerts and finds endless inspiration in her frequent trips to Europe.

Lisa Wong Jackson, a San Francisco native and graphic designer, has run her own custom design and stationery company called Good on Paper for over 19 years and has worked as a senior designer for an engineering/architecture firm for nearly 20 years. Lisa lives in Berkeley with her husband, two boys, and one-eyed dog Frankie. She keeps herself busy freelance designing, cooking, baking, taking photos, and being a baseball mom.

Together, they believe in supporting their local artisan community, ethical production practices, offering goods made from natural materials, and supporting social causes. They have collaborated on many creative projects over the course of their friendship--their creative career paths have crossed once again in the creation of Morningtide, a lifestyle shop carrying a thoughtfully curated selection of goods made by independent designers.
